Journey Overview
It really is the ultimate sandy bay – as this wonderful open top service beavers its way out of Exmouth to Littlehaven Sandy Bay Beach.
Just under half an hour of breezy, blissful venturing out of the eclectic but charming Exmouth, straddling the coast and its refreshing breeze before arriving in Littlehaven. It’s a ‘not-to-be-missed’ experience that is known as the ‘Big Beach Bus’, a name originally suggested by Littleham Church of England Primary School children back in 2014. This fab route connects Sandy Bay & World of Country Life with Exmouth sea-front and town centre. One service per day in each direction also starts and finishes at Countess Wear in Glasshouse Lane, serving also Lympstone Saddlers Arms.

A Fab Day Out!
The open top journey is a perfectly apt gateway that climaxes in an afternoon on Sandy Beach – a beautiful half-mile long, privately owned sandy beach, nestled in a secluded bay. It’s ideal for families and there’s quality time to be enjoyed in this expansive space on the golden sands, making sandcastles, digging holes and exploring the rockpools for crabs. With so much space and a lifeguard presence during the summer months, it’s one of the best places for swimming and water sports.
The World of Country Life is within walking distance with its eclectic mix of museums, animals, play areas and entertainment, indoors and outdoors. There’s also a barnstorming array of daily activities, as well as the museum of farming and the fantastic Farmer Lees Food Barn!
Then, on the return to Exmouth, pop in for a visit to the famous Pavillion and maybe check out a free summer concert in the gardens or the comedy club, with its monthly evenings of swashbuckling laughter. And to round off a fabulous day, maybe a visit to the Moo Bar with its 16 flavours of Langage Farm ice-cream!
