A Fab Day Out!
A great trip on the Greenline 703 starts at Bracknell, where visitors can explore the town’s many attractions before boarding the bus. Bracknell is home to The Lexicon, a modern shopping centre with over 80 stores, cafes, and restaurants. Visitors can also take a stroll through South Hill Park, a beautiful mansion house surrounded by parkland that offers a variety of cultural events throughout the year.
There’s a whole day’s fun to be had at Legoland with over 55 action-packed rides and attractions. Folk can explore miniature Lego replicas of famous landmarks in Miniland, take a boat ride through a Lego-themed world in Pirate Falls Treasure Quest, or enjoy a rollercoaster ride on The Dragon. Children can also take part in hands-on building activities at the Lego Ninjago World and the Imagination Centre. Lego enthusiasts can visit the Lego Studios where they can learn about how Lego models are designed and created. Other attractions include the Duplo Valley for younger children, a Lego Star Wars display, and the Hill Train that offers scenic views of the park. There are also plenty of dining and shopping options throughout the park.
Then, it’s onto the bus again and to Windsor – home of many tourist attractions. The most iconic of these is Windsor Castle, a royal residence that has been the home of the British monarchy for over 900 years. Visitors can explore the castle’s State Apartments, St George’s Chapel, and the Queen Mary’s Dolls’ House. Another popular attraction is the Windsor Great Park, a vast area of stunning natural beauty with over 4,800 acres of parkland, gardens, and woodland. Other things to do in Windsor include taking a stroll along the River Thames, visiting the Windsor Guildhall, and exploring the town’s many shops, restaurants, and cafes.
Onto the bus once more and to Slough, a bustling town known for its cultural diversity and modern architecture. Visitors can explore the town’s many shops, restaurants, bars and cafes, or visit the Slough Museum to learn about the town’s history and culture.
The bus then travels down London Road where a pleasant 1km walk away is the village of Langley’s delightful 12th-century church and traditional pubs. The bus arrives in Colnbrook, a historic, leafy village with a charming 14th-century church and the fascinating Colnbrook Museum. So close to the Airport, there’s a very attractive, rural delight about this pretty location. Heathrow then beckons and the bus gets close up to aircraft as it approaches, with great views of a procession of planes honing in on their landing on the runway. Watch out too for the fascinating Heathrow Pods, which are automatic driverless electric vehicles travelling back and forth between Terminal 5 and the outskirts of the Airport. This really is a route like no other!
